Lincoln’s First Christmas
We had an amazing first Chirstmas this year with Lincoln. He is always such a delight and he was such a Joy on Christmas morning! He is about 4 months old and loves interacting with everyone around him. This Christmas was an even more incredible experience than we’ve ever had at Christmas time before.
We spent Christmas Eve and early Christmas morning with the Hall Family. Mike shared a really special thought about the Savior and we sang together as a family to really bring in the spirit of Christmas. It always feels amazing to have spiritual experiences with family. It brings us closer together. We really wanted to make Christ the center of our Christmas.
Lincoln was tired, and although he didn’t know that Santa was coming… We got him to bed with anticipation and excitement in our hearts.
Christmas morning was full of love, gifts and gratitude. Lincoln loved watching the other kids: Peyton, Houston, Aeston, and Sable, either open their presents with excitement or play with their new toys. He’s always loved observing other people.
After a beautiful morning with the Hall family, we drove up north to visit the Fleming Clan (my family) to spend the rest of Christmas day with them. That is one joy of living close to both families… You can visit both in just one day! Nana, Papa (Sean and Cologne Fleming) Kevin and Sierra all showered Lincoln with love and gifts. Lincoln is their first grandbaby/nephew and so they couldn’t help spoiling him for his first Chirstmas.
Between the two families, Lincoln had more clothes, new books, and toys than we could have ever asked for. Matthew and I were really grateful for all the love we felt.

The whole month of december was full of fun and Christmas Cheer.
Lincoln always has nap time right in the middle of church.
This year Matthew and I wrote a special song called Extraordinary. It is a beautiful duet describing the feeling that Joseph and Mary must have felt knowing they were to birth and raise the Savior of the world. It was an amazing experience for Matthew and I to write this song because of the weight and magnitude of the calling that we have in raising Lincoln. We preformed this song at the Torren’s Annual Music Christmas Party. We were filled with the spirit and our hearts were touched powerfully as we testified through song in the Savior.
Lincoln was the smallest baby and played baby Jesus in the play. I enjoyed playing Mary, mother of Jesus, as Matthew sang the words of the beautiful story of Christ’s birth.
Matthew brought Lincoln up to see the tree and all the gifts on Christmas Morning. Lincoln’s sweet expressions were priceless and fun for all of us to watch! I’m sure he was really just surprised to wake up to the entire family staring at him. He loves attention!

Matthew insisted I be the very first person to open a present on Christmas morning (even before Lincoln woke up) and I’m thankful he did. Matthew got me the most amazing nursing cover and I was able to use it for Lincoln’s first meal of the day.

Happy First Christmas Lincoln. We love you and cherish every minute with you!!
